About
The Centre for Trusted Internet Community (CTIC) is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the internet and its implications on the society of the future. We are the first-of-its kind centre that will integrate social and behavioural science research, digital technologies, data-driven approaches, and policy studies to holistically examine the the Internet and its societal impact.
CTIC has a team of more than 20 academics with expertise ranging from computer science and new media to psychology, public policy and law. The research team will study issues such as the implications of emerging technologies, social media development, digital well-being and values, digital culture, as well as international policies, standards and best practices, in order to promote responsible public discourse, to protect individuals against online falsehoods, and to establish the trustworthiness of information.

Information Gyroscope (iGyro) Digital Information Resilience: Restoring Trust and Nudging Behaviours in Digitalisation
This project aims to investigate digital information creation, dissemination and consumption through the lens of consumer behaviour to identify vulnerabilities in the digital information pipeline and develop tools and strategies to instil digital information resilience in online citizens.
Living Well Digitally: Identifying, Testing and Measuring Framework Indicators Towards Digital Readiness, Inclusion and Safety
This project aims to redefine wellbeing in the digital age, and to develop and validate an original Digital Well-being Indicator Framework (DWIF). CTIC has partnered with DQ Institute to launch a web platform and assessment tool, enabling individuals to enhance digital wellbeing in their everyday lives.
Information Gyroscope Symposium on Mis-, Dis-, and Mal-Information (iGYRO SMDM) 2025
On 28 April 2025, the Centre for Trusted Internet and Community (CTIC) at the National University of Singapore hosted the inaugural Information Gyroscope Symposium on Mis-, Dis-, and Mal-Information (iGYRO SMDM) 2025. Held at the innovation 4.0 Seminar Room, the symposium convened over 100 researchers, policymakers, technologists, legal scholars, and the public to address the escalating challenges of misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation (MDM) in digital ecosystems.
