We, the Internet (WTI) is a global citizens’ dialogue coordinated by a coalition of partners such as local governments, UNESCO, European Commission, Council of Europe, Internet Society, World Economic Forum, Wikimedia Foundation, World Wide Web Foundation, Google, and Facebook. The initiative was launched by Missions Publiques, an impact driven organization aiming at improving governance for the 21st Century. CTIC organised and led the Singapore leg of the dialogue.
As the Internet is fast becoming the backbone of our social interactions, it further emphasizes on the urgency of this discussion. Nearly 100 citizens in Singapore were brought together to discuss the following themes through the prism of COVID-19: Internet and Me, Digital Identity, Digital Public Sphere, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Inclusion.
Internet and Me: Navigating the digital world
Digital Identity: How do we portray ourselves online?
Social Networks and Fake News: How long do you spend online and who can see your data?
Tackling Disinformation: Who is regulating the digital space and the information there?
Artificial Intelligence: Thoughts on AI and the use of AI in future
The Future of the Internet: How will the Internet grow and how will we be affected by that?
